The Methodist Church for Prescot and Whiston is a welcoming community meeting each Sunday at 10.30 for worship and fellowship. Worship takes different forms including all-age worship and café style worship, and we have a small group of very enthusiastic children.
Our Mission statement declares "we are a God centred people seeking to share Christ's love with our communities" and this can be seen in action each week.
Our doors are open every Monday to 'Share Knowsley', a group supporting refugees and asylum seekers. A number of our members are active in volunteering with this group. Saturday, we support 'Zero Waste', an organisation that saves surplus food from landfill and distributes this to the local community. In addition, we are actively involved in the local Foodbank.
Fridays our warm space café provides free tea, coffee, snacks and meals to anyone in the community. We also have an active Toddler group who meet each Friday morning in term time and a very welcoming Friendship group who meet on the second Thursday of each month providing much needed support for many of our housebound members who are transported to the group by volunteers.
As a Church we support many charities including Christian Aid, Action for Children and Compassion. We currently hold the Eco Church bronze award and a striving towards silver.
